Then the only option that will remain is deleting Whatsapp and install in again in which case you will lose all your data and important chats.
Whatsapp recently released a fingerprint lock where in Whatsapp has inbuilt fingerprint lock which you have to unlock with your fingerprint for opening whatsapp. It is a good initiative to protect users privacy but have you ever thought what will happen if my finger doesn't unlock whatsapp?
Suppose for some reason, your finger gets hurt or your poke your finger while knitting or get a small burn on your finger while cooking, you will never be able to unlock Whatsapp because whatsapp will never recognise your fingerprint. Now if Whatsapp doesn't recognise your fingerprint then you are struck forever till your finger gets healed which might take months or even years in extreme cases. The reason for this is Whatsapp doesn't have a recovery option once you lock it with the fingerprint. No alternate pattern or password to unlock Whatsapp is your fingerprint is not working which can lock your whatsapp for a long period of time. Then the only option that will remain is deleting Whatsapp and install in again in which case you will lose all your data and important chats.
That's the reason I am against Whatsapp lock from the time it was released. I always recommend people to use a phone lock or app lock to lock your Whatsapp instead of inbuilt fingerprint lock.
