      It came as a shock when Google announced Kotlin to be the official language for Android development but after than the recent announcement by Google that it is going Kotlin first was expected as Google wants to drive most of their users from Java to Kotlin. The reason for that may be because Java programming language is not licensed.

Third, they build all the concepts up from the ground, leaving nothing confusing (One of my pet hates of a lot of tutorials online is that they explain only some of the stuff, leaving you with the sinking feeling that you don't really understand the important stuff).

It's hard to keep a printed book updated when a language is so new and kind of a moving target but there are a lot of big changes that you will miss.
