Fushsia OS: Everything you need to Know

Fuchsia OS was developed to compete with Apple's iOS and hence has been redesigned fully from top to bottom

      Have you heard the word fuchsia OS? If not then you are probably not up to date with Google's new Operating System. Fuchsia OS as Google calls it, is a new OS developed by Google. By its looks, it may be set to directly compete with iOS and Mac OS. Google's new OS will work on Smartphones, Chrome Books and even Google Home devices.


Fuchsia OS:

Fuchsia OS was developed to compete with Apple's iOS and hence has been redesigned fully from top to bottom. The image shown above is a screenshot of the Fuchsia OS home page. Each and every app will be accessible from the homepage if the Android App of Fuchsia OS is to be Believed.

Fuchsia OS will not have a notification bar and instead has a small quick settings panel which will open by clicking on User profile photo which is present on Homescreen. Image Above is a representation of Fuchsia OS quick settings panel.

Recent Apps screen is just a swipe away. All you have to do is swipe down from top to bottom and you will find all your recent apps.

Google hasn't missed the suggestions and news panel. The Google news, Google Search, Google Suggestions and Google Assistant has been integrated into one panel which will be accessible with a bottom-up swipe.

Fuchsia OS app for android:

Fuchsia OS app has also surfaced which shows a design interface of Fuchsia OS. You will be able to experience the Fuchsia OS user interface after installing this app. One thing to note is that this is just a representation app of how the user interface will be. No official announcements about fuchsia OS user interface have been made by Google.

Latest Developments:

Fuchsia OS first came to be known when it surfaced on Github on August 2016. After then it has always been a subject of buzz for all the technology blogs out there. In recent developments which have been seen on Github as reported by 9to5Google, fuchsia OS will have Android App support via Android runtime which means that Google has plans to replace Android OS with Fuchsia OS. While nothing has been made official, Android Studio has picked up support for Fuchsia's Zircon kernel as reported by 9to5Google.

Recently Google has opened a website for Fuchsia development and online fuchsia documentation. The website can be found at fuchsia.dev and all the online documentation for Fuchsia OS is available there.

While there has been a huge buzz about the release date, ongoing developments, and supported devices. None of it is official from Google. Neither has Google officially announced Fuchsia OS. When Fuchsia OS will be released officially is currently only known to Google.
