    Ambient display technology through old is still to come to mid-range and entry range phones. Only high-end premium phones like Pixel XL, Samsung Galaxy S9 have an ambient display. Many of Motorola's mid-range phones too have an ambient display but other than that none of the phones implement ambient display technology.

What ambient display really is?

Ambient display technology is a simple trick to save battery life on AMOLED phones by keeping part of the screen always on for or for some time when you recieve notifications. Some also call it ALWAYS ON DISPLAY. It preserves the battery life of AMOLED screens by dimmed lighting a small part of the screen and keeping it on for showing notifications. 

How to get Ambient display on your phone?

 It's easy. You DO NOT need root or anything. You have to just download Always on display and install in on your android phone. 

Now give it storage and pop up permission and other permission which are necessary for smooth running of the app. 

Select a type of clock you want. Select the design of lock screen and set the app as device administrator. Now whenever you click the play button in the app or whenever you turn off the screen Ambient display will get on automatically

If you notice one thing this will quickly drain your battery. So you will have to enable some default battery saving options. Check the image above and enable the battery saving options.
