How to get gestures on Xiaomi phone

Here is the trick to get full screen gestures on any Xiaomi phone. You will need Unlocked bootloader and rooted phone for this trick.

With MIUI 10, Xiaomi introduced gestures as its main navigation on all its phones. All the latest models got an advantage of this feature because all the latest phones had software navigation buttons instead of hardware navigation buttons, but the older devices with hardware navigation system did not get to enjoy the gestures which are why around 90% of Xiaomi phones are still on the hardware navigation system. So here is the method to get gestures on your Xiaomi phone even if you have hardware buttons on your Xiaomi phone.

Hey guys, I have once again worked out an amazing trick so that you guys can enjoy full-screen gestures on any device. You will require an UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER and ROOTED PHONE.

How to get full-screen navigations on Xiaomi Phone

Download E S file explorer.

Open device directory from Menu>Local>Device and then go to System and first back up the build prop of your device. In case if anything goes wrong you can always restore the backup and be back to normal.

Now edit build prop and add these lines:qemu.hw.mainkeys=0

Save the file and reboot. Now you should get FSG option in settings.

Now go to Settings> Full-Screen display and then select Full-Screen gestures.
This will enable full-screen gestures on your phone.

How to disable navigation buttons on Xiaomi

Xiomi by default has the option of disabling navigation buttons in Quick Settings. enable it and your navigation buttons will be disabled.
You can also go to Device>System>User and open key layout directory. Open the file ft5x06_ts.kl as text in ES note editor.
Now add a # at the end of the last four lines. It should look like this now
#key 158 BACK

#key 139 MENU
#key 172 HOME
#key 217 SEARCH

That's it. Now you have your navigation buttons disabled. Though, I suggest you follow the first method because it is more comfortable.
